Hornsby Shire Council is seeking to redevelop the community facilities on the upper level of Storey Park to include a new community centre and childcare centre. Currently the Asquith Community Centre, located at 10x Old Berowra Road, Hornsby, consists of a large hall with kitchen and enclosed yard. It is used by a number of community groups.
The proposed redevelopment would include several small classroom sized rooms as well as a larger hall with stage. This would allow for several groups to use the centre simultaneously. The proposed plans also include a 72 place childcare centre and a publicly accessible children's playground.
The site area has been extended by the incorporation of Council owned property at 12 Old Berowra Road which will facilitate the inclusion of the proposed activities and associated parking.
